Free Activities Around LA ORT Wilshire: A Look At Museum Row
We have busy students. Along with your LA ORT classes, many of you have jobs and families.
Still, sometimes you need a break. Lucky for all of us, there are great things to do around the Wilshire campus for
LA ORT Wilshire is mere blocks from the world-famous Museum Row. Here are some useful facts to know before you plan your visit to one of LA’s famous museums.
Urban Lights at LACMA
General admission is free for everyone on the second Tuesday of every month. (That’s April 8 this month!)
General admission is free for anyone under 17 years old.
Target sponsors free admission on some federal holidays that fall on a Monday.
Have kids? There are free “Story Time” readings every Monday and Friday at 2 pm.
April schedule: 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25 and 28.
La Brea Tar Pits
Enjoy free general admission on the
Tuesday of every month. (Next free day is May 6.)
The Tar Pits are free to view anytime. The park area makes a lovely spot to enjoy with your family. It’s great for outdoor activities and picnics.
Craft & Folk Art Museum
Everyone can visit for free on the first Wednesday of every month! (May 7 is the next day.)
Not interested in museums? Don’t worry. There are plenty of fun and free things to do with your classmates or family between LA ORT classes. From time to time, we’ll let you know what’s going on around our Wilshire and Van Nuys campuses.
