News Update on Los Angeles Public Transportation

LA ORT College knows that many students use public transportation to get to class. If you do, you have probably heard about the increase in the Metro costs coming up September 15th. Have no fear, students. With LA ORT’s transportation assistance program, these changes should have little influence on your personal costs.

If you do not know about the transportation assistance program already, LA ORT College has gone even further in helping its students by helping to fund their transportation to campus. Full time students of ORT can purchase a special College/Vocational virtually for free. While the cost of the pass is increasing from $36 a month to $43, we remain committed to assisting our students with the cost. LA ORT will continue to reimburse student’s purchase of the pass even with this rate increase.

For those students who attend the Van Nuys Campus, LA ORT still offers its free shuttle in Glendale and Burbank. The free shuttle won’t take you to all parts of Los Angeles, but it does run through the main routes in both cities.

Public transportation is not only cheaper than driving; it’s also better for the environment and gives you the gift of time! If you have not applied for a metro pass because of its cost, let us help. Speak to an advisor today to find out all LA ORT has to offer.

LA ORT is a group of nonprofit junior colleges in Los Angeles and Van Nuys provide career training in short term courses.
