Successful LAX Career Fair and Recruiting Day

Successful LAX Career Fair and Recruiting Day

LA ORT’s Career Services Department had a great turnout here on Thursday, February 13th. More than 45 graduates and current students eagerly attended the LA ORT College LAX Career Fair and Recruiting Day. Our guest speaker represented Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) International Trade & Job Training. He reviewed valuable information about LAWA, including the organization and the hiring process. He provided an overview of present job opportunities available and handed out job descriptions of many open positions, such as: Security Coordinator, Lead Customer Service Agent, Administrative Assistant, Ramp Agent and Pinkberry Team Members. He also explained that the process to gain employment at LAX includes a thorough background check.

LAWA employs thousands of full-time and part-time workers at every level and in every department and capacity imaginable. From skycaps to restaurant workers to elevator mechanics, they offer a wide variety of rewarding careers. Most positions at LAX require interaction with the travelling public, therefore it is important that anyone seeking employment be able to work in a team environment and communicate well. There are also support positions with the airlines and car rental facilities that help the flow of passengers and cargo.

At LA ORT, you can prepare for a rewarding career similar to the opportunities available at LAX. LAX applicants come from our Business Management, Accounting, and Administrative Assistant programs, among others.
