Time Management: Feel like you’re overwhelmed with school, work and chores?

If your to-do list is piling by the minute and you have no idea where to even start, breathe in, relax, and follow these simple tips:
Write a list of all tasks- on a sheet of paper, write down everything that needs to get done, whether a small or large task. Next to the task, write the date/time that it needs to be completed.
Identify urgent vs. important- on another sheet of paper, separate your list of all tasks into two categories: urgent vs. important. Everything on your list is important, but some things need to be done within the first few days to a week. The urgent items have to be done first, no exceptions.
Don’t take on too much- don’t be afraid to turn down a task or ask for help.
Pay attention, no distractions- stop making excuses, put your phone down for a few hours, it can wait. Those messages will still be there. If necessary, go to a quiet place.
Slow down, there’s no need to rush- rushing and making mistakes won’t save you time, when you’re told to do it again. Starting sooner, reduces the headache because you have more time to get things done.
Take mental breaks- don’t be afraid to take 2-3 minutes to put your work aside. These breaks reduce stress and keep you productive.
Managing time by setting priorities is a skill that if properly applied would help you not only in your personal life but also in your professional career. Applying the tips outlined above would help you get more done over a given period of time, as opposed to someone who reacts impulsively to the tasks that they encounter.
