Time-Saving Tips for Your Morning Routine

Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, a solid morning routine can give your day the jump-start it needs. The tricky thing is most Best Morning Routine blogs include things like “make yourself a nice healthy breakfast” or “start your day off with some yoga.”

Let’s face it, there’s no way you’ll have time to go for a morning jog if you’re also balancing the crazy schedule of being a student, employee, and/or a parent. Life is just too hectic for all that! So we’ve decided to share some of our favorite time-saving tricks to make your morning routine shorter than ever.
Trick #1: Do as much as possible the night before.
This might seem like a lengthy list, but all of these things could be done in an hour or less. And all that time is time you can now cut out of your morning routine.
  • Lay out your clothes
  • Pack your bag
  • Pack a lunch
  • Shower
  • Exercise
Trick #2: Use your morning commute to your advantage.
If you use public transportation to get to work or school, you’re in luck. If used efficiently, an hour on the Metro can be just as productive as an hour at home.
  • Eat breakfast (something healthy but portable)
  • Catch up on emails
  • Study
  • Read

Trick #3: Get a good night’s sleep so you can be energized in the mornings.

If you’re well rested when you wake, you’ll be in a better mood and better able to tackle your morning routine with enthusiasm.

  • Go to bed at the same time every night
  • Skip the snooze button
  • Avoid electronics for the hour before bed time
  • Try cutting down on or eliminating your caffeine intake
